“Diamond Carter is a character that represents an idea. The name comes from a song off of Mark Levine’s 1968 album “Pilgrim’s Progress,” in which the character Diamond Carter splits for the woods in order to maintain artistic integrity and love. Sometimes, I am Diamond Carter in my striving to be that pure artist. Other times, the band as a whole is Diamond Carter in our transcendental moments of melodic unity.”
